Cindy Tanghal is a Psychologist who has over 15 years of experience working in inpatient and outpatient programs in private mental health hospitals. She has vast experience working with a wide range of complex and prevalent presentations including mood disorders such as depression, Bi-polar Affective disorder; Anxiety disorders such as GAD, Social anxiety, Panic disorders, PTSD, OCD; Anger; interpersonal difficulties; Drug and Alcohol problems; and Personality disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder.
Cindy worked in the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) outpatient program, at one of Victoria’s largest private psychiatric hospital, where she provided therapy to clients diagnosed or presented with traits of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Her role in the DBT 12 month program included DBT individual therapy, DBT skills training, DBT consultation meeting and DBT phone coaching. Her work with these clients has led to experience treating many co morbid conditions such as substance abuse, eating disorders, and post-traumatic symptoms.
She is currently the Senior Psychologist and Coordinator of a DBT outpatient program and specialist 4 week inpatient program at a private hospital.
Additionally, she had worked for an Australian Government agency conducting short term therapy, group therapy, critical incident response counselling to natural disasters and clinical assessments such as IQ testing, personality assessments and report writing.
Cindy provides supervision to DBT clinicians and university post graduate students undertaking placements in either their Master or Doctorate degrees in psychology.
Cindy has completed a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with a Graduate Diploma in Psychology and a Master of Psychology (Counselling). She is fully registered as a Psychologist with AHPRA, Psychology Board of Australia and an approved AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia supervisor.

Cindy aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental space and is in tuned, sensitive and takes a holistic approach to client’s needs. Cindy aims to conjunctively work with her clients in achieving their goals and needs, by tailoring each session with the most suitable evidence-based intervention strategies.
